TIFFANY BECK, MD, MPH, FACOG
Gynecologic Oncology
Dr. Beck is a board-certified gynecologic oncologist at the Hoag Family Cancer Institute, specializing in the comprehensive care of patients with gynecologic cancers. Her expertise includes minimally invasive and robotic surgery, complex tumor debulking, and the use of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and biologic treatments, with a focus on clinical trial development and multidisciplinary care. She has served as chair of the OB/GYN department since 2025 and believes strongly that physicians belong in leadership roles to advocate for patients. She earned her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, completed her OB/GYN residency at Magee-Womens Hospital of the University of Pittsburgh, and pursued fellowship training in gynecologic oncology at the University of Washington. She is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and board eligible in gynecologic oncology. An active contributor to peer-reviewed publications and national presentations, Dr. Beck is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Society of Gynecologic Oncology.

PICKUP FAMILY NEUROSCIENCES INSTITUTE Project: Reengineering the Brain to Restore Lives
Funding Request: $400,000
Dr. Goldschmidt is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon specializing in skull base surgery and brain tumors. Originally from Argentina, he earned his MD and PhD from Buenos Aires University Medical School and completed neurosurgery residency and a cranial base fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh. He received the William P. Van Wagenen Fellowship and trained at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden, where he developed an experimental brain bypass technique he continues to study at the UCSF Weill Institute for Neurosciences in Berkeley. A physician-scientist, he leads research at the intersection of neurosurgery and technology and, as a UCSF–UC Berkeley Bakar Fellow, directs a team developing soft robotic tools for minimally invasive brain surgery. Since 2021, he has performed over 700 skull base surgeries, with academic work including 100+ publications, grants, and presentations. He is a fellow of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, serves on the tumor committee, sits on the board of the California Association of Neurological Surgeons, and is active in the North American Skull Base Society, while holding appointments at UCSF and UC Berkeley.

RAGHUVEER RANGANATHAN, MD
Program Director, Immune Effector and Cellular Therapy
Dr. Ranganathan is a board-certified medical oncologist and Program Director of the Immune Effector and Cellular Therapy Program at the Hoag Family Cancer Institute. He specializes in blood cancers and advanced cellular immunotherapies, including CAR-T and bispecific antibody treatments, focused on improving outcomes and durable remissions. He earned his medical degree from Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University after undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan, completed residency at Drexel University College of Medicine's Hahnemann University Hospital,, and pursued postdoctoral research in cellular immunotherapy at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his hematology-oncology fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he remained on faculty and helped develop CAR-T clinical trials. Prior to Hoag, he was an assistant professor at the University of Southern California Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, where he established a CAR-T program and led clinical trials in hematologic malignancies. He has received honors from the Lymphoma Research Foundation, American Society of Hematology, and NIH, and authored numerous publications in cellular immunotherapy. He serves as a board member of Blood Cancer United and is active in leading oncology societies. He is a passionate fan of the NBA and college basketball and plays pickup games on the weekends.
HOAG SPORTS MEDICINE Project: The Future of Health Optimization

EUGENE YIM, MD, MPH
Chief of Service, Hoag Sports Medicine
Dr. Yim serves as Chief of Service for Hoag Sports Medicine and is a fellowship-trained primary care physician with expertise in emergency medicine, public health, and sports medicine. He provides comprehensive care across preventive health, acute conditions, and musculoskeletal injuries, helping patients restore function, optimize performance, and improve long-term wellness, including care for a select concierge panel. Dr. Yim earned his undergraduate degree from Yale University and his medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine, followed by a Master of Public Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. He completed his emergency medicine residency through the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and a sports medicine fellowship at Stanford University, working with collegiate and professional athletes. He has served as a team physician for Stanford University Athletics, the San Francisco 49ers, the Golden State Warriors, and the Los Angeles Chargers, and currently serves as head team physician for the U.S. National Men’s and Women’s Volleyball Teams at the Olympic level.
